Do you like to write? Maybe sometimes you try to express yourself but don't really know how or if you do you get misunderstood by some? Journaling is such a great way to express yourself without being judged by others. There are times whenever journaling is great to express whenever you're mad or sad or just fed up with life instead of venting to others. Think of it as your life guide that nobody will know about unless you let them.

How do you start you may ask?

The best journals that I have encountered are from Target and Barnes & Nobles. The pages are very spacious for you if you write big or small. They are some that have quotes that motivate you as well. The designs and colors are also awesome and make you want to write in it and fill the pages as much as you can. You also have options in the type of pens to purchase to use while writing in your journal.

  • Open your journal and date your entry: 01/01/2023 just in case you want to go back to that entry and remember what actually happened that day (I love to read my journal entries and remember what happened on 02/13/2021. It brings you back to those memories and you start to remember that day- it feels great to reminisce).

  • Let the words flow: don't think too much about it. Just start writing whether it be about your day, what happened at work or at home, did you get in a fight with someone, are you sad and what about?, what did you learn at work or school, recipes you want to remember, include your pictures of those you love, draw in it, write down bible verses or your favorite quotes, literally ANYTHING YOU WANT. Write down anything and everything you want in your journal. Vent, vent, vent as much as you want. Your journal is your safe haven.

  • Take it everywhere: don't be afraid to take it with you. Take it everywhere with you if you can. You can write down how you are feeling in that exact moment and not only that but express yourself in private.

Don't let anyone make you feel any type of way about journaling. It's a great outlet to express yourself to not only yourself but to others if you want. Sometimes writing something down is helpful for you to express why you are sad, or why you're feeling this way, or why you're mad, or maybe even trying to figure out why you are bothered about something or someone. Writing is actually thinking about what we want to write and how we want to write it. It gets our mind thinking and saying things with thought instead of saying things without thinking about them. You get to perfect your words and your thought process. Such as the saying, "think before you speak"
