I wasn't such a smart kid all through my education up until I started my first semester of college. I graduated High School June of 2015 and I decided to start my first semester of college that Fall at San Jacinto Community College. I had to start from the bottom since I didn't take my SAT serious in High School. I had to take beginner course of Math, English, etc. I didn't take school as serious as I should have.. but I learned the hard way again in my life. I have experienced a great amount of people try to humiliate me because I attended community college, but If I wouldn't have attended I wouldn't have accomplished as much as I have and will continue to do. You should never let people that have never done much within their lifetime dictate and try to make you feel less of a person because of where you decided to receive your education and degree. College isn't easy and it sure annoys me to my core whenever people that have never attended or have attended and never finished give you their two cents of how college is so easy. Please, take it from me... it's not easy. It's so stressful. I would cry my eyes out every single night, day, exam, and assignments. My mother, husband, father, and those that know can vouch of how much I would cry, but I never gave up and I tried every single day to strive to pass my courses. After 2 long years, I finally graduated in May 2018 with an Associates Degree in Business Administration.
I was so lost after I graduated, but I knew my journey of becoming a Prosecutor wasn't over and I knew I had such a long way to go. I decided to get married and move to Killeen Texas where I attended Texas A&M-Central Texas to pursue a Bachelors Degree. I wasn't prepared for this type of Professor much less courses. I will never forget Dr. Dixon. He was such a hard professor, he would have us reading tons of books and articles to where I felt that I couldn't even function anymore. I had never had to read so much material in my life, but I didn't give up. I eventually graduated with in May 2019 with my Bachelors Degree in Political Science. I knew once again my journey wasn't going to stop here.
My husband decides to get out of the military and we move to McAllen Texas. I decided to attend Liberty University which is located in Lynchburg Virginia. I was an online student and this was my very first time being one. I was so scared, but I was ready. If you think Dr. Dixon was hard, think again! These Professors didn't come to play with me. My Professors were Judges, Lawyers, Police Officers, and Retired Military.. which was why these classes and material were so challenging for poor little old me. BUT. I did it. I graduated in July 2020 with a Juris Masters in American Legal Studies!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. So many people told me I would amount to NOTHING. Y'all keep posted on the Graduation Blog in July 2021!
My journey isn't over but it sure is stopped for a little while. At this moment I'm in recovery from my Appendix Surgery but I will be studying for the LSAT once October begins! After that, I will schedule my exam date! Then off to Law School I GO! Don't let anyone tell you what you can and can't do. If you put your mind to it, you will. Don't ever give up on your dreams and college. It's hard but if you try and never give up you will be soooooo successful. I promise.

Thank you so much tia!! Your support is unbelievable!
Again, I'm very proud of you, you're the first Escamilla in our family to accomplish a Master's degree, I love how you never give up, and I know God's blessings are upon you!
